Beautiful disney-esque princess and all her forest friends have a nasty cold. It’s Cough Syrup to the rescue.

“Salvador Dali Autosodomized by his own Inspiration” - A digital painting (2006).

This is, embarassingly, internet-famous. Art students often ask me for interviews on this piece. Online galleries often include it as Dali’s self-portrait. And there’s people selling merchandise, prints, shirts and buttons.

While this is all very flattering and all, it was just meant as a tribute and a satire of Dali’s pompous attitude. A lot of effort went into his slightly crazed look, and the long neck is based on Dali’s “Self portrait with Raphael’s neck”. He’s grating his hand and using the blood to paint a red ribbon behind him, exalting his own genius, with his third hand, surrounded by Dali-esque symbols. Frankly, I find it over the top and kitsch, that’s why I love it.

I could have used some warmer, lighter tones in the shadows, but I didn’t know any better back then.

To this day, it’s painful to look at the grated hand.

Hope you like

“Look at me - The Rape”

Here’s an older painting. 2006-7, took me about 5 months on and off, I didn’t have the courage to finish it. It’s a self portrait, and a painting about rape, for a friend who is a rape survivor and for all victims of rape out there.

I wanted to concentrate on the Survivor’s expression a lot, it had to be self-assured and aloof, strong and independent. I think I pulled it off.
